cocker1.png The Animal Healing Center was started by Dr. Patricia Saras in August of 2008.  Our first location was on Latah Street in Boise, Idaho.  We soon realized we needed more space to fulfill our wish to provide a wider range of services for our patients.  Our medical services include minor surgeries and hospitalizations, as well as laboratory services.  We moved to our current location at 5500 W. Emerald in 2009.

Dr. Patricia Saras was raised in Shoshone, Idaho.  Her family moved to a small farm when she was a teenager.  Upon graduation from high school, Dr. Saras attended Idaho State University and received a degree in Zoology.  She then attended Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 1980.  Dr. Saras worked in the state of Washington for a year, then returned to Idaho and started the Addison Animal Clinic, which subsequently grew to a three veterinarian staffed full-service clinic.

Dr. Saras' prolific education and training includes:  the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society course in Tampa, Florida in 1997-1998; the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy course with Dr. Pitcarin in Boulder, Colorado in 2002; two courses in Functional Indirect Osteopathic Manipulation with Patricia Korteaas, Physical Therapist, in Eugene, Oregon; two prolotherapy courses - Oak Park, Illinois in 2006 and Stone Mountain Georgia in 2008; two sessions of the Medical Acupuncture Update Course with Dr. Narda Robinson at Colorado State University in 2009; a Cancer Treatment Homotoxicology course in 2009, a Skin Disease Homotoxicology course in 2010, both attended in Denver, Colorado; and a Homotoxicology Conference with emphasis on Detoxification & Drainage using Homeopathy in 2012 in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Saras has taken several courses in nutrition with various Standard Process practitioners as well as numerous miscellaneous weekend seminars on various holistic topics.  Additionally, she attended the Central Veterinary Conference in Washington, DC in the summer of 2011 to get updated on current issues in conventional veterinary medicine.

Dr. Saras is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (AHVMA) and the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).

Dr. Patricia Saras continually seeks education and knowledge in new theory and holistic practice interventions to add treatment modalities to her practice that will benefit her animal patients at the Animal Healing Center.
